I'm glad I didn't...
I'm glad I didn't listen to my teachers growing up! I have been doodling my whole life. Having a pen, pencil, or any writing utensil in hand has helped me to listen better over the years.
Listening is is an art and a science...which may be why I love it so much. We can train ourselves to listen for key words, important concepts and even for CONNECTIONS in what we are hearing. I pride myself in synthesizing information for myself, my students, and for audiences in bite-size and sticky ways that will remain with viewers long after they have left a conversation, a presentation, a lesson, or a meeting.
